Costume 1: BARBIE

My first Halloween costume (because 1 is never enough if you're obsessed with Halloween like I am!) is Barbie! I originally came up with the idea when I saw this hot pink dress from Susanna Monaco on Revolve. Even though I saw the dress months before Halloween I decided to just plan ahead and have my costume ready.

I'm a big believer that what makes a costume great are the details! That's why I didn't stop I paired the dress with a few key accessories to make it a truly Barbie look.

The Barbie nameplate I found on Missguided, it was so lucky that I happened to go on the website and they had a Barbie collection!

I re-wore the pink fluffy shoes I wore to my Valentine's day party last year knowing they would pair perfectly! I feel like they made the look really fun along with the transparent bag. They both felt very Barbie.

I also decided to wear the retro cat eye sunglasses to channel a more vintage Barbie. I was really inspired by illustrations that channeled Barbie from earlier times.

Getting the makeup right was really important to me to put the whole costume together. I knew the key pillars would be the cheeks and the lips, keeping them bright pink. I used the Tom Ford cream blush in pink sand, along with Charlotte Tilbury's lipstick Between the Sheets, and lipgloss in Portobello Girl.

I kept a few key products in my bag, including Pat McGrath's lipliner in pinky-nude lipliner in Buff. Paired with the Charlotte Tilbury products it really did make for the perfect Barbie pink pout!

Lastly, here are some final makeup shots. To get the pink eye I used the KKW beauty Cherry Blossom collection which had all the right pinks for a barbie pink eye.

It's a Barbie World!

xx
