I finally managed to get into one of the busiest restaurants in Washington D.C., The Red Hen! And I can gladly say it was worth the wait.

Starting with the appetizers, the fried cauliflower is a must, as is the crostini piled with whipped ricotta, and truffle honey.

The Red Hen is known for their amazing pastas, I managed to try three including the Paccheri with Mushrooms and Porcini Crema, a creamy rich pasta. In addition to the spicy Casarecce, and my favorite, the Rigatoni with Fennel Sausage Ragu.

To counteract all the carbs, we tried the broccolini, that had a delicious spicy sauce, perfectly complimented with toasted garlic, which added a nice crisp.

Lastly was the dessert which was truly a surprise. A Maple Custard with a hazelnut crumble, I was surprised by how balanced and interesting the dessert was!
